Creation of Database In MS-Access

 

Creating a Database:

              Database can be created in two different ways. Those are:

·       Selecting “open blank database”

·       Selecting “database wizard”

v  Selecting “open blank database”

o   Choose File/New or Ctrl+N (or) click on new button on database tool bar

o   In new dialog box double click on blank database

o   When you see file new database dialog box type a filename.

o   Choose the folder name. By default it is stored in My documents

o   Click “create”.

o   You can see a new empty database window.

o   Click the New, you will be offered a number of choices. Select table wizard and click ok.

v  Selecting “database wizard”:

o   Select database wizard option.

o   It is a method of design databases by a step by step procedure.

o   Choose some of the readymade databases like ledger, accounts.

o   When you see file new database dialog box type a file name.

o   Choose the folder name. By default it is stored in My documents.

o   Click “create”

o   Choose columns and sample data if required for your database.

o   Choose ready-made templates for applying styles to the forms and reports.

o   Click “finish”.
